Really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. A huge house in an amazing location. We were 3 families of 4 and had space to spare. Jens and Michelle gave us a lovely welcome pack and a list of kid friendly local attractions every one of which was spectacular. Can't recommend the place enough. Hope to come back some day.read more

We enjoyed our Christmas break at Caragh lake, the house was amazing and had everything we needed . The views are breathtaking and we really enjoyed jens Spotify playlist !! Stunning does not capture the spectacular views and overall natural beauty of this home on Caragh Lake. We comfortably stayed with 13 family members from ages 1 to 66! The house layout is amazing and accommodates sleeping in or rising early without disturbance. Hiking, food, services are all easy to access. Day trips to Dingle, Killarney and The Ring of Kerry were easy to manage from this home base. Great location and great hosts in a well appointed and very comfortable home.read more

We had the most incredible long weekend at Caragh Lake House in May. It was a big family gathering to celebrate our baby girls christening and the whole weekend could not have gone better. The house and garden are just beautiful and the views are to die for. The house is beautifully appointed and there are some lovely artworks and books dotted around the place. The house is so comfortable and kitted out with everything you might need for a big weekend. We had friends and family staying in all of the bedrooms and yet there is so much space it never felt as if we were on top of each other. 4 nights was just not long enough and it was so difficult to drag ourselves away when we had to leave. Michelle and Jens are wonderful hosts and I will be singing their praises for a long time to come.read more

My family had a beautiful week at the Caragh Lake House. The house is situated overlooking the lake with a fine lawn/garden and scotch pines sloping down to the water. Although we were busy hiking and exploring the area, the fine view through the home's huge windows "asked" us to take time to watch and observe. I think we experienced peace and gratitude during those times. The house interior is inviting with clean modern lines, elegant without being fussy, bedding is crisp and all the beds( all but 2 in the house) we used were comfortable. The hosts are welcoming, responsive, available.read more

We knew from the photos posted on the web that the house and its setting was going to be beautiful yet, at every turn, we couldn't help but say, "Wow!" The home is built to accentuate the jaw-dropping views, with windows and doors that invite the gorgeous lake and magnificent MacGillycuddy's Reeks into your space. The home is well-equipped and had ample kitchen supplies for the seven of us. The bedrooms and living spaces were super clean and comfortable. The view from the dining room made meals special. Jens and Michelle are extremely competent hosts; friendly, fast to respond, and generous with their advice. Michelle greeted us personally and had yummy treats waiting for our arrival. The location of the Caragh Lake House is central to visiting Kerry, Cork, Clare and Limerick. We waited too long to request local chefs but found Carrig Country House and Ard Na Sidhe to be wonderful places nearby to have a top-rated meal (make reservations to assure they can accommodate non-guests.) We hiked, fished a bit and relaxed a lot. It was pretty tough leaving. I have been to Ireland many times and you will find the best of Ireland here.read more

My seven friends and I stayed here for nearly a week, and we enjoyed pretending we were on holiday at our own, private estate on the lake. Our hosts were available to us when we needed them and welcomed us personally. There are beautiful, country walks to take right from the house. If you are looking to relax and explore all the charm of county Kerry, I highly recommend this very special home.read more

The house was absolutely wonderful. Stayed with four family members and we all expressed how much we missed "our lake house" as soon as we left. Loved waking up to share breakfast in the kitchen, spreading out in the living room after a long day of sight-seeing, and then playing cards in the dining room before retiring to our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The views were absolutely breathtaking and the entire stay was so calming and lovely. Town was easy to navigate to for groceries or a meal out and the views from the nature reserve just up the street were incredible. Michelle and Jens were fantastic to work with and so helpful during our stay. Our family would stay again in a heartbeat.read more

Fabulous property on a stunning, tranquil lake, close to many fantastic towns and attractions: We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this beautiful property! Jens and Michelle were wonderful, easy to communicate with, and helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. Some extra special touches were the freshly baked apple pie, local craft brews and wine, plus paddle boards to have fun with on the lake! The property itself is stunning...clean, neat, and well decorated. We never got tired of the view...during the day or at night (never seen so many stars). The property is nestled in a tranquil spot, but yet only minutes to the quaint town of Killorglin and the Ring of Kerry. By far, this property was one of the highlights of our trip!
