Whether you’re staying at Caragh Lake House or you’re just passing through, this loop is a great way to see the beauty of the lake from all it’s glorious angles.
Without stopping off (which of course you should) it’s about a 40 minute drive, one and a half hour cycle and five hour walk.
We’ve jotted down some of the best places to take some photos, stretch your legs and have a bite to eat along the way such as the Glencar House Hotel, Ard Na Sidhe or Carrig House.
If you’re driving it’s best to go in an anti-clockwise direction from the house or Glounaguillagh National School.
That way you see the lake from the western shoreline, meander through Glencar and come back via the Devil’s Elbow for some stunning views on the way down.
Enjoy and be sure to tag your photos #caraghlakeloop. 🙂
